Not being able to get a good night’s rest and feel refreshed for the next day can be a real downer. Unfortunately, this causes a lot of people to turn to medications such as sleeping pills. Of course, not all of us wish to resort to filling our bodies with all sorts of chemicals to get the rest we need. Happily, there are some much more wholesome and straightforward tactics for better sleep. Read on to find out what they are.
4 Simple and Wholesome Tactics For Better Sleep
#1 Make sure you are comfortable.
Being as comfortable as possible at bedtime is an excellent way of signaling to your mind and body that you are ready to shut down for the night. Additionally, being more comfortable will mean it’s easier to drift off to sleep and easier to stay asleep for the whole night as well. After all, if there is nothing uncomfortable to disturb your sleep won’t end up waking up throughout the night.
You will have to decide what comfort means to you to get this right, though. For some, this will mean investing in a super soft luxurious pair of pyjamas to wear in bed. In fact, pjs can be so comfortable to wear that some people are starting to take them out of the bedroom and into daytime dressing!
While for others, it will be able to keep the temperature and airflow in the room right. Still, others may consider investing in a new mattress or at least turning the one they have, so it offers better support for the muscles and skeleton during the night.
#2 Schedule in some wind-down time
Wind-down time every evening makes perfect sense. However, we can find it tough to follow through on this activity, especially as so many of us have an addiction to our phones. With that in mind, if you genuinely want a better night’s sleep, try and ditch the phone at least an hour before bed. Then your brain will have some time to truly unwind and relax and allow you the restful sleep you so desperately desire.
#3 Use a meditation
Meditation is a great way to help you get off to sleep and stay asleep longer. There are plenty to choose from as well, although perhaps the best are guided meditations. The reason for this is that they provide instructions that will keep your brain active enough that it won’t be distracted by all the problems and worries of the day. Yet they help to keep your mind not so busy that it gears up into full day time mode.
In particular progressive muscle relaxations and Yoga Nidra can be perfect for helping you get off to sleep.
#4 Exercise
Yes, I know that all the advice suggests that exercise invigorates the body and therefore wakes you up. However, if you do exercise earlier in the day, it can make sure you are tired out enough for a good sleep once the evening rolls around.
Alternatively, do not forget that there is plenty of wind down slow yoga flow sessions avoidable out there as well. Many people swear by these to slow down both the body and the mind and allow them to drift off into a deep sleep regularly.
I hope these tactics for better sleep help you to have great night’s sleep every night!

These 4 things are really important! I think the reason most of us don’t sleep well are our phones. I try to stay away from my phone at least for an hour before I go off to sleep.
