Yesterday, I was talking to my brother and he asked me what I had been up to over the weekend. I said ‘nothing’. A little later in the conversation he asked, ‘What’s news?’ and I said ‘nothing’. Frankly, my weekend had been nothing unusual and I didn’t have any ‘news’ to give him. There was nothing out of the ordinary that happened. I often do sweet nothing!

Sweet Nothing
As I reflected on this, I realized that I was glad that nothing out of the ordinary took place over the weekend. Life went as usual……And that was wonderful.
Sometimes, we long for excitement..a buzz…and often we get into a habit of needing this excitement to make us happy. I used to be that way. But I’ve learnt to enjoy the simple days when ‘nothing’ happens. When I can just enjoy being me and doing what I love.
‘Moments when nothing happened. What sweet nothing.’ ~ William Kittredge
