Canva, the graphic creation software, had New Year’s Eve challenge called #onagoodnote. Although I didn’t take part in the challenge I found the hashtag interesting. This is the first #MondayMusings post of the year! I wish you a Happy New Year and hope that 2021 is starting on a good note for you.
Starting On A Good Note
I’ve done my reflection for 2020 and shared all the lessons I learned during the year. If you’ve read my post on my Word of the Year for 2021 you’ll know that my word is ‘Yes’. Grateful to all the bloggers who joined me for these two posts and shared the lessons they learned and their word for 2021.
Over the week, I’ll be sharing my vision board and action steps for 2021. While all this might look complicated and intimidating, all I’m doing is breaking up my plans into do-able goals.
You’re welcome to write and ask me about my word or about my plans – corinne(at)everydaygyaan(dot)com – and also share yours with me.
Do your best and then relax. Let things go on in a natural way, rather than force them.
PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA

I think the best way to start on a good note this year is to keep things simple. I’ve made shame-free, guilt-free goals, setting myself up for success rather than failure.
“How do you do it?” said night.
Lemn Sissay
“How do you wake and shine?”
“I keep it simple,” said light.
“One day at a time.”
Once again, I wish you a very happy New Year and here’s a reminder from me.

Looking forward to your vision board ideas, Cory. I’m working on one this year, for the first time. Though I plan to make it in my planner but would like to incorporate a frame version by my bedside if I can. Amen to that!
The KISS version of advertising works wonders. “Keep it simple, stupid,” it says. 🙂
I guess thats a great mantra to have.
I wish you well in the new year and thanks for making the wrap up to 2020 delightful with all these prompts. 🙂
Yes! One day at a time. I have started to keep my goals as doable simple things to do as well. Crossing them off of lists is so satisfying. ❤️
Happy New Year Corinne!
I think we’re all going to be taking it slowly this year.
I ‘gave’ it all last year – 2020 woty was ‘Give’ …..this year I’m going to ‘consider – think about’ everything.
Looking forward to seeing your ideas on keeping it simple and manageable.
Take care

One day at a time is the best way to deal with life. Sometimes, for me, it is one moment at a time.
I’m not one for traditional vision boards, but I do love seeing everyone else’s boards! 😉 Looking forward to seeing your action steps, and how your year of Yes unfolds!

Hi Corinne – I’m glad you’re off to such a positive start for the year and that you have plans in place to carry that through the year. I’m looking at growing in positive and proactive ways too – we’ll be doing it together!
I just shared a Christmas post calling it the “season of yes,” so I love your word!
I hope 2021 is a wonderful year for you!

I loved this quote: “Do your best and then relax. Let things go on in a natural way, rather than force them.” I restarted a yoga practice this month. This quote sums up my intention for my practice perfectly. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, one day at a time…as the sun says. Looking forward to your VB reveal.
Happy New Year, Corinne! Sounds like you have an excellent plan to achieve your goals. One day at a time is a favourite mantra, along with go with the flow.

Wow, like this hashtag “Starting on a Good Note”. This is a really nice thought to start your day or year. Also, your WOTY is really inspiring.
I like your word for 2021! Reflecting and finding the positive in a crazy year is such a healthy thing to do. We can all learn lessons, no matter what our circumstances.
I am working on my vision board too. I feel it worked brilliantly for me last year, even though I made one in the middle of the year. Do you use any apps to create a vision board?

I took part in the #onagoodnote project but I never got any notes in return. Now I wonder if I did it correctly! I did a vision board in my bullet journal for the first time ever. Honestly, I struggled to get the pictures relevant to me as we have absolutely no magazines to cut photos from. Anyway, one day at a time is the best way to move forward. It reduces the pressure for sure. All the best, Corinne.
