Soar like a bird..
Easier said than done.
It takes practice
And plenty more.
It takes courage
And the will to let go.
It takes trust
And support from a flock
People who care and
Don’t just talk.
Friends who lift you
When your spirits are low
And stop by a minute
To let you know
They’re around if you need
For a word or a deed.
On them you can lean
They say what they mean
With them you can soar
And do much more…
No bird soars too high if he flies on his own wings. – William Blake
I saw the truth of William Blake’s words very recently. As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, life has been topsy-turvy for over two months now. We had already announced a blogging challenge on Write Tribe and had a lot of people looking forward to it. I wondered if we could continue with it, given how I didn’t know what the next day would bring. That’s when a band of great blogging friends stepped in and took over – literally carrying the Write Tribe Festival of Words #6 through and making it a success. Anamika, Bhavya, Shalini, Vinay, Vinitha, Shilpa and Shinjini – thank you! Also thanks to all the enthusiastic bloggers who make Write Tribe a vibrant community of bloggers! Take a bow, people!
Lean on others, and let them lean on you in times of need. The Universe is a generous place, if only we will allow it to be so!
#FridayReflections
If you are new to Friday Reflections, here’s what it’s about. It’s the end of the week, you’re probably exhausted with work, and all you want to do is sit back, put your feet up, sip on some fancy cocktail or wine, and write away.
Sanchie Vee from Living My Imperfect Life and yours truly give you one writing prompt a week to blog about and link to every Friday. The link will be open till the Monday. After you link up, be sure to spread the love by visiting other bloggers who have linked in too.

The prompt for the week is this quote :
No bird soars too high if he flies on his own wings. – William Blake

You can link up your posts below. Don’t forget to share the love!
Thanks Corinne for giving me a mention. Write Tribe is home for me in blogging and we are all family. The beauty of this family is we all stand by together. I loved the last quote about universe.
It’s like united we stand, divided we fall. But these days you got to make sure that the people you stand with are trustworthy, the people who are close to you, you actually know them .
Beautiful poem! 🙂
No bird soars too high if he flies on his own wings. – William Blake absolutely divinely true.Life is a balance of give and take.Without helping each other few can reach where they want.
Thank you dear Corinne, for the mention. But what are blogging communities for?
I loved your poem. Having a strong support system is everything <3
One of the purposes of friends is to carry each other – what happened with you is a wonderful thing, and a testimony to your character. Just yesterday, a friend stepped in to help me – I hope I can be there for her when her time comes.
Beautiful Poem Corinne. It is bliss to have someone we trust around us.
I loved the way you described importance of family and friends…
Lovely poem, Corinne! It sums up the essence of our community aka family so beautifully! The WT family is a wonderful place that has supported, inspired and encouraged me through some of my most trying moments as a blogger struggling to gain a foothold in the blogosphere. I have no qualms to admit that I would have perished without this community, as would many others. Totally at home here and very happy to be a part of this amazing tribe of bloggers!
Write Tribe is an amazing community for bloggers and so glad that you and the amazing bunch of people created this. Loved the prompt and your story on this
I might be a strange case here. It’s so easy to let people lean on to me, but I find it difficult to lean on other people in times of need. But of late, I’m learning to confide in one person, one heartache at a time. It is difficult but it feels so wonderful to have someone to share it with.
