I don’t believe in astrology or tarot card reading. Nothing against those who do. It’s just not my thing. So what happens when I see the following post from Modern Gypsy. Is it serendipity, I wonder?
November is likely to be a month of new beginnings. You’re ready to walk away from a particular situation or challenge – not in a huff of emotions, but after careful consideration. Chances are, you have sorted out and settled some things that had been weighing on your mind or heart. Some of the things that came up for you last month may now have been more or less resolved. You’ve either found closure, or decided that it is time to move on from a particular situation, person, or way of being. Or maybe, you are finally ready to embrace some new habits. This is likely a decision that has come after some reflection; you are prepared to leave old baggage, old stories, old comfort zones, and move on ahead into the as-yet unknown. – Modern Gypsy’s post Tarot reading for November 2017
Is It Serendipity?
In the last few months, I’ve been drawn into drama that I can well do without. So I made some difficult decisions recently.
It finally came down to choosing what was important for me.
However, I’ve been struggling with finding my way out of guilt and a sense of duty.
I’m a great believer in the Universe sending us signs to nudge us in the right direction; to affirm decisions we’ve taken and to generally bring peace of mind if we are seeking it.
So when I see this post from MG, I asked myself, is it serendipity? My first answer was a big resounding ‘yes’. But then I thought about and asked ‘Was I not looking for an affirmation?’ I was. Unconsciously I was. But I wasn’t looking for it on MGs blog. So the fact that she wrote that post and that I was drawn to read it is serendipitous, don’t you think?

This week’s prompt: serenity
It is indeed thought-provoking. I am a Reiki practitioner and Tarot Card reader. I agree in the universe sending signals or people who communicate those signals. It is all about believing in Universe and yourself.
I believe in God and this universe. Every single happening has its own reason in the world. We just need to be alert and able to crack it.
The thing about Modern Gypsy’s tarot forecast is – it resonated with my personal situation as well. I was stunned but as things begin to make sense, I can see the connection.
We find affirmations in strangest of places… As strangest of signs… Yes, I would say it’s serendipity. Hope it helps you to make right choices.
It’s strange that how we find what we look for or what at places we don’t even know exist!
Now that I read MG predictions here it somehow clicks with me too
That does seem like a ‘sign’ and serendiptious. I’m not into horoscopes or the like either, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to believe it if it’s helpful or resonates.
I also steer clear of horoscopes etc, but I truly believe in synchronicity. The universe always guides us to what we need to hear, see or do, in some very mysterious ways.
I agree, Corinne.
I, too, have been reflecting on the past, making some changes that take me away from all the drama that life can be and also trying to find a sense of calm within myself. So, now, when I read the first para of your post, I was stunned! It’s because these thoughts keep revolving in my mind all day, even as I go about my day. I keep telling myself I need to change some more, find peace within, and here was a post that seemed to echo all that I say to myself! I first hopped over the MG’s blog, read the entire post and so felt it was written for me!
Life is a series of serendipitous events, a sum total of which are we, and the decisions we make and the destinies we create for ourselves…all thanks to the changes we accept and work on!
Hi Corinne, that is a very interesting question you have asked, based on the quote. I don’t think, I can take it as a stroke of serendipity. My point is this: serendipity is the happening or development of things by chance. but in the quote it’s by choice. (I didn’t read the full post you referred).
Yes I think we look for affirmation but also it could be just the right message to really hear!
I have began many new things this month so MG’s tarot reading seems to be true for me to some extent and it all did come to me by chance. I wanted to write it for Friday Reflections but missed last week . I shall write it anyways and share soon.
Lovely prompt it was…I missed it. Loved reading all the posts on the prompt.
Even i do not follow Astrology or tarot card readings but yes at times when life puts me in the path where my findings cross-path with what was in a way predicted, it makes me wonder and question myself for a while!
It is a matter of coincidence I believe. Sometimes we feel like doing things but hesitate to do because we need that assurance to go ahead. It is a psychilogical necessity that many might experience. For example sometimes it’s simply a decision of quitting the job or starting a new venture. And suddenly you open the morning newspaper and the forecast supports what you really want to do.
Ah! Did you write this for me? I am going through the same and I seriously need to cut the drama which I am getting sucked into due to sense of duty and guilt. I believe that the Universe has its way of showing us the path or direction by way of these so-called coincidences. These are the clear signs and we must certainly pay attention to them.
We may be looking for affirmations but the Universe does send us messages. This is not an accident it is destined by the Powers that Be. We have to understand the signs that are often staring us in the face but which we refuse/fail to see.
Serendipity it is, Corinne! That’s kind of the way Tarot works. Unlike astrology and horoscopes, Tarot isn’t really predictive. Instead, it’s like a mirror, reflecting back the things that are going on in your life; some things that you’re refusing to see; some things from the past, perhaps; and based on that, it merely indicates a path that you are on. Its all very Jungian – tapping into the collective consciousness; personal subconscious; and archetypes.
Anyway – I’m glad it resonated with you, and with so many others as I can see from the comments.
