As you must have noticed, I’ve been doing a lot of travel research in the hopes that I’ll visit these places sometime soon. For a change, I’m departing from the food and focusing on sights to see. Today, I’m focusing on a beautiful city in the US of A!

San Francisco Is an Amazing Destination
San Francisco is known as the city by the bay. It is also known as one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. It has always been a major attraction for tourists from all over the world. The combination of having a wonderful climate and there being many things to see and do make San Francisco an ideal destination for your next vacation. There is a very good reason why it is constantly chosen as one of the most livable cities in the United States. Now it is time you see for yourself why so many people have fallen in love with the city by the bay. There are many places you can research hotels in San Francisco. Be sure to look at as many as you can. Here are some reasons why San Francisco is an amazing destination.
1. Lombard Street
Lombard Street has become famous around the world, primarily for the extreme amount of turns in it. Because of this fact, is has been chosen as a location for a wide variety of movie and TV location shoots over the years. Hollywood has always embraced the beauty of San Francisco, repeatedly using the city as a backdrop in many films. If you want to get some great photos of the entire city, Lombard Street is the perfect place to do it. The San Francisco Bay, the island of Alcatraz, Coit Tower and many other landmarks are all clearly visible from Lombard Street.

2. The Presidio
Originally constructed to be used as a military base, the Presidio has now been turned into one of the most popular tourist attractions in San Francisco. It has now been officially designated a national park by the United States government, so it is completely protected from urban development. Walking trails have been installed, making this a nice place for a family outing. Locals often use the area for jogging or riding their bikes. If you want to learn about the history of the surrounding area when it was used by the United States military, you can take one of the tours that are given every day. The Presidio is an ideal place to come if you simply want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city itself.
3. Alcatraz
There can be no doubt that the island of Alcatraz, located off the coast of San Francisco, is not only one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city of San Francisco, it is one of the most visited places in the United States. With so many movies and TV shows featuring Alcatraz, the unique history of the island has become very famous and legendary. For many years, it was utilized as a prison, housing some very famous and dangerous outlaws. Two of the most famous gangsters to spend time on “The Rock” are Al Capone and George “Machine Gun” Kelley. Capone actually died on Alcatraz back in 1947. Aside from its very unique location, Alcatraz became famous for never having a successful escape. It was finally shut down permanently as a prison in 1962 because it was too expensive to keep running. After sitting in disrepair for many years, the city eventually realized that many people would be interested in taking a look at Alcatraz for themselves. It was then reopened as a museum and has continued to be a prime tourist destination year after year.

There are plenty of other sights to see in San Francisco, so I’m definitely putting it on my places-to-visit list and remember, I’ve still got to research the food there. đ

Oh and here I thought you were in SFO. BTW if you do go there, do hop on to Pier 39 and watch the seals. There’s also a yummy Ghiradelli chocolate outlet closeby
I’d love to visit again – was a bit young last time to appreciate SFO.

As a local (we live in the South Bay area) I attest to its wonders! Alcatraz is a must-see. Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, North Beach … it is all wonderful.
