Here’s just one of the lovely photographs my husband took using what would be considered an outdated camera. While he was looking to update to a digital camera, it didn’t him from clicking away whenever he saw something worth capturing. Picture imperfect? Possibly, but still a beautiful memory captured!

Picture Imperfect?
I’m both an impulsive person as well as someone who will overthink things. Although I’m not a very nitpicky type of person, there are times I hold back from putting something out there until it is what I consider to be perfect.
Many times I delay doing something meaningful like reaching out to someone, writing that one mail that would make someone’s day or even updating my blog. I wait for things to be just right -the right timing, the right mood, making sure I get the words all perfect – the list goes on. I guess by being a slave to the perfect, I lose out on making beautiful pictures with not so perfect ‘ingredients’.
“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” ― Mark Victor Hansen
Does trying to be perfect hold you back from doing something meaningful in a timely way?
May you be inspired – every day!

This is so me. Waiting for the things to be just perfect or right and I miss to live that present well.
Oh, yes…so many things hold me back. Even KNOWING that perfectionism is a disorder, not a virtuous character trait, even KNOWING that perfectionism doesn’t mean you’ll ever achieve “perfection,” though you may die trying, I let it hold me back, Corinne. Thanks for the reminder. I guess we need an anti-perfectionism accountability buddy, you and I.

I’m the same way! Sometimes I feel like I’ve missed quite a few amazing opportunities simply because I’m waiting for the perfect timing.
Love this post and the Mark Hansen quote.
I totally relate.
Thanks for sharing.
