I’m presently on vacation in Thekkady, Kerala, India. If you’re reading this post, it’s because I have scheduled my posts in advance! Do you think I’d be silly enough to blog on vacation? 🙂

For me, the headaches of a vacation are only in making sure we’re all prepared. As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post, I’d rather be over-prepared than not prepared. I carry a lot of just-in-case stuff. Sometimes, the just-in-case extras prevent us from buying more souvenirs! I’m guessing that’s a good thing!
Vacation happiness for me means lots of books to read, eating well and enjoying the new place and people. I’m not much of the sight-seeing kind. I’d rather enjoy Nature. That’s why we chose Thekaddy.
Today, I’m linking in to Toni Lynn Ferro-Cloutier’s prompt : Vacation Happiness Or Headache? via BlogFEST2012.

Thanks, so much, Colleen. I did.
Wow, I never even heard of this place! I have no interest in leaving the USA. My next stop from the US..HEAVEN! My dream trip would be to Texas. And with that I would want a local to show me around to make sure I see it all. I want to ride a mechanical bull while I’m there!
Enjoy your vacation! Stay safe.
It’s just like I have no interest in visiting the US, only because I certainly don’t want to be treated like a piece of dirt when I apply for a visa – as often happens to us Indians. I do hope you get your chance to visit Texas and ride a mechanical bull. I’ve done the mechanical bull here and it’s not something I want to repeat. 🙂
I had a fab vacation – thank you!
Awesome Corinne!
You did a wise thing to schedule your post in advance! Now you should forget everything and just be there and enjoy yourself. A much needed break 🙂
Well, I would NEVER carry any books on a vacation, because I love sight seeing, nature, eating the specialties of that place, taking photographs, and just making the most of the place till I fall flat. 🙂
I guess it’s kind of habit that I got when we visited with Dad to all areas of the country, something that we as a family enjoyed.
Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Oye, you have all the inside information as to the prompt of the day. But, cool that you had to write so many blog posts and schedule them for each day you are away.
Enjoy your vacation.
Scheduling is definitely the way to go!!! Have a wonderful time!!

Oh, Corinne, my vacation happiness comes the first week in November when Danny and I get to go back to the mountains. The beach was beautiful for the reunion, but the mountains are my stalwart, calm, quiet, and spiritual place.

For the first time ever, we will have internet access there. Not sure, really, if I’m happy about that. Sometimes, I think we all need to give it a rest.
Enjoy every moment of your wondrous vacation and may you have unforgettable adventures and memories!
Love and blessings~

I am just like you in terms of carrying extra stuff for vacation. That is why I take more time packing. Besides, with kids there are so many things that can be of use. Then my husband is amazed that I’ve even remembered to pack this! Me too — enjoying nature is super cool. Books are my favorite activity, and I deliberately stay away from internet except for checking mails. Have fun! Kerala is so beautiful!

Your picture reminded me of a vacation thousands of moons ago when I was really little – we did a trip down South India and one of the places was the Periyar National Park. Hope your vacation was fab.
