Missing Pieces of Me is a reflection written in response to the #FridayReflections prompt of ‘missing’.
Missing Pieces of Me
Early one morning it hits her
And sends her reeling –
The realization of what had happened.
How gradually and quietly
She had fallen apart.
The gaping hole in her heart
Was a vaccuum
Created by missing pieces of herself –
Dreams and ideas
Needs and wants
And the feeling of being consumed
By something bigger than herself.
Bubbling out of her was the
Laughter she had been suppressing,
Holding on to tears instead.
But now she’s ready to love again
And while it fills her with joy
It also scares her to death.
It pushes her to move
Towards all she was meant to be.
In the warm blanket of love
She found something she had lost
“Missing pieces of me,”
She exclaimed
Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle
She pondered over them
Wondering where they fit.
Slowly, it all began to make sense
And she is on her way to becoming
The woman she respects and loves.
“Sometimes, we lose sight of ourselves when we’re not paying enough attention.
We all get lost once in a while, sometimes by choice, sometimes due to forces beyond our control. When we learn what it is our soul needs to learn, the path presents itself. Sometimes we see the way out but wonder further and deeper despite ourselves; the fear, the anger or the sadness preventing us returning. Sometimes we prefer to be lost and wandering, sometimes it’s easier. Sometimes we find our own way out. But regardless, always, we are found.”

Finding the missing pieces of self is a great discovery. Eureka moments are special not because of the discovery but because one has over come immense ordeal to reach up to it!
As rightly mentioned, everyone goes through it once in his/her life time. But isnt it assuring that if you seek it so shall you find it?
