The end of the year is always a wonderful time of reflection for me. Although I don’t make it too obvious, my mind is churning out several ideas and plans for the year ahead.
Last year, I worked on a Vision Board. That had mixed results. I achieved some of what I had envisioned, started the process of working on other areas and completely failed in other areas.
For 2013, I’m was not led to work on a vision board. Instead, I’m choosing to: Keep It Simple.
Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials. ~Lin Yutang
Keeping It Simple
I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Lao Tzu
I am learning…that a man can live profoundly without masses of things. Richard E. Byrd
How many undervalue the power of simplicity! But it is the real key to the heart. William Wordsworth
Simplicity of living, if deliberately chosen, implies a compassionate approach to life. It means that we are choosing to live our daily lives with some degree of conscious appreciation of the condition of the rest of the world. Duane Elgin
Live simply so that others may simply live. Mahatma Gandhi
Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand… Henry David Thoreau
Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Our life is frittered away by detail. Henry David Thoreau
I am going to apply this to my choices, my relationships and my work. As a first step, you’ll see a different looking Everyday Gyaan today. Keeping it simple, you’ll agree.
More about my plans tomorrow.
In the meanwhile, have you signed up for self-love yet?

I like the new look and new tagline Corinne! I’m making some minor changes to my blog too this time of the year and need to keep the simplicity theme in mind!
Thanks so much, Vishnu. I love the look and feel of your blog already – simple and yet it draws you in. Of course, the content is marvelous and that’s what is most important. I’m feeling that you and I will have a lot of sharing coming up in 2013 and I’m looking forward to that. ♥

That’s the best thing I’ve ever heard this day 🙂 Thanks. I love it when we make things simple(r)… Oh, and I just have to look at my VB again 😉
Keeping it simple, waiting and listening for the voice of the Lord to season us, lead us, persuade us to follow . . . I think I will walk in those ways for 2013 . . .

Blessings and love, Corinne!

I love the quote that went along with this post. So true! I think it’s very wise to keep it simple. Oftentimes we over complicate and crowd things. Clarity…how refreshing! 🙂

Hi Corinne,
Simplicity was always been the key for me 🙂 I believe it applies for everyone, but it doesn’t mean keep it simple as it is everyday, no? 🙂 We can improve through simple additions. However sometimes people prefer not to be simple at all.
The flower in the picture is very beautiful. We had one tree some time ago in our garden too 🙂 You got the snap yourself?
Well, now your blog theme is quite simple and background is much nicer 🙂 I hope many plans running in your mind for 2013. Wish you all the best with ’em and will make a change 🙂
Cheers…

That’s interesting that you did a vision board last year. I’ll have to check out that post because I just did a vision board for 2013. Although I did it on pinterest in a secret pinboard. I really like that idea though. I’m able to look at the pinboard from anywhere, my phone, my kindle, my laptop, etc. I’m really interested in your plans though!! Looking forward to reading about them!

Corinne, Keep it simple is my middle name:-) elimination equals happiness and peace of mind to me. Here’s to keeping it simple in 2013! xoxo
Keeping it simple is always my way of doing things but most of the time I’m quite unsuccessful with simplicity. Clutter-free and a less-crowded head is what I aim to achieve. And, as always, I have no big plans or resolutions for 2013 except that I should start living with more awareness. When one is aware, I think it is automatically simple in every way.
And, a KISS (keep it simple sweetheart!) is always effective.
Joy always,

Susan
