Congratulations to Natasha Sinha whose blog, Natasha Musing, completes 2 years on 6 November. It’s hard to believe that it’s only 2 years since Mrs Sunshine has been around the blogosphere. Personally, Natasha and I have had a connect that I’d rather we keep between us, but we both know that it means a lot to us. So thank you, Natasha for bringing your special brand of wisdom into my life and the lives of many others. Keep on keeping on! Today, I’m honoured to guest post on your blog and share my thoughts – ‘Fill Yourself Up’.
Fill Yourself Up
As I sit reading a romance novel, nibbling on peanuts, my thoughts start to wander to all the things I could be doing during this time. It seems like I’m wasting my time on something frivolous when I could be doing so much more – like settling cupboards, responding to important emails, or even planning more posts on my blog. The more I think about this, the guiltier I feel. Then I tell my ‘parent‘ to go take a hike, while I fill myself up with something that brought me joy.
I start to think of all the things that fill me up and that I deny myself from enjoying, because they don’t feel important enough.

Fill yourself up is an important advice to read first thing in the morning. You have rightly termed the numerous voices in our head, calling out to us to do more meaningful work, as parent
I’m sure being a parent comes with its special brand of demands and guilt, Anamika.
I love that Oprah quote, because we certainly cannot keep giving from an empty bucket! We don’t pour into ourselves so the goodness can be stagnant and stinky, but so that we can pour out into the lives of others without becoming depleted.
Blessings to you and your peanuts AND your novels!
Thanks for the blessings and your take on filling oneself up, Michele.
