I wrote these 100 Words, inspired by so many people who are have every reason to be unhappy and depressed, yet manage to find resources within themselves to not just survive, but make life meaningful. What an inspiration they are. Every time I feel like grumbling about an inconvenience, I think of people like this who live life with dignity and grace.
Every Once In A While
Every once in a while, he would ask her how she was doing. He cared deeply for her and she was grateful.
There were days she was happy, almost deliriously so, but there were other days too. Days when she longed for what might have been. Days when she wished that life had ended for her along with the rest of her family. Days when the pain was intense, but she had learned to live with that.
She had survived. She had recovered, as best she could. Â Despite being confined to a wheelchair all her life, she was content.
Yes I know. Sadly unless people lose something, they don’t realize its value. Lovely post, Corinne
Isn’t that truly sad, Vidya? I’d rather be grateful for all I have – but am not always – trying!
We dont realise valuw of what we hv until its too late!
Truly inspiring when people can find love for life even when all odds are against them! Life is short…true, but beautiful… True!! We should be grateful and try and spread happiness while we can!
Lovely post, with just a few words you made my day! 🙂
“I cried because I had no shoes. Then I met a man who had no feet.”
I really admire those who can find resources within themselves to survive. Well written, Corinne.
Lovely post Corinne, highlighting an extremely important aspect of our lives, the fact that there is always going to somebody happier than us, but also the fact that we are always going to be happier than a lot of others as well.
Beautiful story Corinne on the triumph of human spirit. In life, we gotta carry on and it’s what we make of things that matters the most. Happiness is a choice:)
Corinne what accentuate the impact of these stories is that we all undergo similar emotions in our life. What we see in other’s pain is at times a clear reflection of our own issues inside. They may have no relation, but the struggle connects us all…
