Creativity and well-being are closely connected. I find that when I’m not feeling good about myself, my creativity ebbs. But when I’m all charged up, feeling good physically and emotionally, then I have an idea a minute!
When we tap into our creativity, we experience a sense of strength and well-being.
— Julia Cameron

Today’s image is from a short workshop on creativity I attended at the end of 2019. The person conducting the programme asked us to introduce ourselves without using our names. So we had to create a name for ourselves and share things that we associate with ourselves and explain to the group why we thought it was so.
This is my sharing and I’ll explain the reasons behind my choices.
My name – Golden – I’m in my 50s – the golden years. No one told me how exciting it was to be in your 50s. I feel like I’m rediscovering a lot of myself and my creativity. Also, I feel richly blessed – hence, the choice of gold! š
My symbol – Heart ♥ – I’m someone who follows my heart rather than my head. And though it’s lead me through times of pain, I know I’m headed in the right direction (eventually) when I listen to my heart.
Colour – Yellow – symbolizing freshness and optimism – what I want to be associated with.
My song – Amazing Grace – it speaks about how time and again I’ve been saved from the consequences of my sometimes bad choices. To be at this point in my life, where I can pretty much choose how to spend my time and do it creatively is a gift of grace.
Text/ Book that inspires me – The Power of Vulnerability, by Brené Brown. This spurred me on to be more vulnerable, to dare more, to allow myself to be authentic. As she says,
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.”
Element or Season – Water – flowing, flexible and open to change – and that’s what we’re called to be.
If you were asked to do this exercise, what would your answers be?

Loved this exercise and I’ll come back in leisure to partake it. Meanwhile, Brene Brown is <3. I am still to read her but love listening to her. When I feel my life force ebb, it's creativity and nature that comes to my recue as a pick me up.
What a lovely post for #WednesdayWisdom #WW, Cory. Thank you for this exclusive addition. <3
Hugs and love, be safe.

Ah, I enjoyed writing this, Natasha. There’s so many pictures we take and don’t use sufficiently. I was going through my phone and found this. It helped me recall a great experience and share a part of it with my readers. So enjoying Wordless (!!) Wednesday. Thank you for creating a space to share my posts.
