When I was approached by Catherine Kennedy to join the book tour for Craved, I jumped at it. It was the right book at the right time! Read my review here to know why I say this.
Description of Craved

In CRAVED, Keli Hammond walks you through the ins and outs of building a brand that is not only noticed, but sought-after and profitable. She uncovers the key elements needed to craft cohesive and clever marketing campaigns and demystifies the components needed to gain influence and be memorable.

My review of Craved
I’m a great believer in the saying, often attributed to, Gautam Buddha, ‘When the student is ready, the teacher will appear’. As I begin to set up The Frangipani Creative, I ‘receive’ books related to marketing, branding, etc. Craved is one of these books that magically came to me and I’m so glad it did. I could definitely do with some secret sauce to build my business.
I’ve always struggled with the idea of having to market myself and products. I realized at the very beginning of reading this book, that there’s a good chance that I was looking at marketing in a warped fashion. Here’s what made me want to read more of the book.
Marketing is not promotion. Marketing is not selling…marketing is the process of getting people to care about what you do and why you do it.”
Then the author goes on to share how we must approach marketing from the consumers’ point of view and not from our own. Looking at the need and reaching out to fill it is very different from ramming our products and ideas down the consumer’s throat!
The book gave good insights into the modern consumer who is spoiled for choice, and how we as a brand must learn to create experiences that matter to the consumer.
Building credibility, creating and expanding a network, and defining and developing brand identity were all well covered.
I found the content very insightful, easy to read and very well laid out. Most of all I appreciated the tone – friendly and personal. I read the book very quickly, but I know I’ll be going back to it to really soak it all in.
I would certainly recommend this book to all bloggers trying to build their brand and startup business owners. Go grab your copy today!

Note: I purchased my own Kindle copy of the book and I’m sure glad I did!
This sounds like an excellent, and very useful read, Corinne!
This sound useful and if you are impressed by it Corinne, it must be good. Like you, I have always been a little aghast at the concept of marketing myself (or anything) so maybe it’s time I read this book and changed my perspective.
This one looks like a helpful read. Thanks for sharing, Corinne.
