I’ve been toying with the idea of writing through October. I blogged through the month of September last year and enjoyed it. This year is quite different though. I’ve been going out at least three times a week on work and it’s taken some adjustment after so many years of being at home. I could always make the excuse that I’m busy. But so are all the other fabulous bloggers I know who balance work, babies, and manage to blog regularly too.
Busy is a choice. It’s also an excuse for not doing what you love.
So without further ado, I’m throwing my hat into the ring for the #write31days challenge. Since it’s a little difficult to categorize my posts, I’ve chosen the category ‘Too Awesome To Categorize’ and hence my choice of  theme – 31 Days of Awesome. Yes, I’m aware that it’s not grammatically right – but I just liked the sound of it.
What can you expect – 31 posts of my usual musings. What’s awesome about them you ask? Me, of course!
Considering that I’m writing this post on 3rd October when I should have written it on the 1st, you’ll start to wonder where Day 1 and Day 2 went. They’ll appear soon enough. đ (updated: they did!).
Isn’t it sad how we can often start to do something we love, then start getting so caught up in it that we get stressed. What do we lose in the process? Joy.
I love writing and blogging. But it’s easy to get so caught up with all the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of blogging that I forget how much I love it and lose the joy of it all.
Today, I’m making a special effort to breakthrough my ‘busy-ness‘ and reclaim the joy of blogging.
Busy is a choice. Stress is a choice. Joy is a choice. Choose well. – Anne Voskamp

Love it! I’m going to really challenge myself in November with NaNoWriMo. Scary!
Oh…I’ve tried that only once and gave up pretty soon. Good luck with it, Wendy.
Can I put something I wrote yesterday, as part of my 31 day series in here? It goes along with what you said about the joy of blogging!
You’re most welcome to, Noelle.
I love “31 Days of Awesome”! I hope you enjoy this month of writing. đ
Thanks, Stephanie. I’m hoping for the same.
I use that busy excuse all the time for not doing the things I love. Yet I waste so much time on other things (like facebook). ~smh I’d love to do a challenge like this. “One day.”
Tell me about it, Kenya. I think I wrote the book on wasting time. đ
I hope your ‘one day’ comes soon.
Happy October! I’m sure you’ll do great this month with posts. Be well, my dear, and give yourself some much earned enjoyment.
I love the phrase ‘earned enjoyment’, Darla. Have a great October too.
Don’t know why but my comments seem to vanish. So, first of all let me wish you all the very best. I loved that quote which says busy is just another excuse to not do what we love. And I know you love writing and blogging. Here’s to 31 days of awesome, Corinne!
Sorry about the comments, Naba. I thought Postmatic had fixed that.
And thanks for the wishes. Have a good October too.
I absolutely loved the category name đ Probably I should use the same for next year A to Z đ Good luck for this writing challenge. I agree on getting caught up with what we love and then stressing over it. It happens to me all the time, and then I have to remind myself that it’s just for fun.
As far as I’m concerned you are awesome 365 days of the year, Raji. đ
Yay! I’m so glad you decided to join, dear Corinne. And your theme is in fact awesome
Thanks, Shalini. You and the others inspired me.
you’re right, it can be done, but I totally get my do’s and don’ts in the way. Some weeks I am full of things to write, then some weeks I struggle to find my words or my voice. Good luck lovely, and happy October! #mg
I have been struggling with this exact same thing. I love blogging and writing but haven’t been doing it lately. True, busy is just an excuse. Need to buckle up!!
Love the theme. đ All the best for 31 days of awesome blogging.
Hope to see you writing more, Aditi. You’re so good at it.
I miss Monday Musings every week! I will start setting reminders.
Awww…that’s sad. Will remember to tag you next week, Orana.
Writing daily is a good mental exercise. But blogging daily drains me. I did it once and I was so exhausted. But if I had to write everyday and blog leisurely, I would do that….Good luck to you Corinne…
Is being busy a choice or procrastinating over being busy is? For me procrastination is where I spend and waste time.
31 days of awesome sounds awesome đ All the best Corinne for daily blogging in October.
Some of us pass of less important things under the ‘busy’ head, Anamika. I’m a big procrastinator too.
I am a fan of writing everyday. Haven’t done a very good job of it lately but I am working hard to pick up the slack.
I admire you for writing so consistently, Joshua. I do read your posts even if I don’t comment all the time.
Yay! I’m blogging every day this month for UBC and so far, so good. I laugh because it’s only been 4 days but I’m definitely going to try my darndest to make it thru. đ I look forward to your posts Corinne.
Yay! Glad to be in with you, Karen. You’re posts are always fun!
I need to remember that – busy is a choice. My biggest weakness as a blogger is to get too involved in all that’s going around and then become so affected by it that I stop blogging for days. Which is why daily blogging is something I have rarely managed to do. I love that category – Too awesome to categorise :-). Will be dropping by read you.
It happens to the best of us, Tulika. You’ve stayed with it for 10 years so that shows a big commitment already. đ
Great theme, Corinne. Can not wait to read them all. Best wishes to you …. !!!
Thanks for your support always, Vasantha.
OMG Corinne, ask me that. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with the constant writing, editing, blogging, photos, food styling, that I go into hibernation. September was great and now 31 days of Writing. I will laud myself if I finish it this month. Let’s jump in together and watch our backs. I have already missed posting yesterday and posting it today!
So funny because I just made a decision to get off most social media and my life has taken a turn toward peace and connected-ness. Alpha Hubby and I want to be more HERE enjoying our life together. It was hard at first but I realized pretty quickly that I don’t miss it. I now blog occasionally when something strikes me or I continue on with the “purging of my past” – but I will come over here read your posts. I always enjoy them.
Great decision, Nan. I do miss getting updates from your blog, but glad you’re doing what your heart is calling you to.
Thanks for stopping by – I always appreciate your meaningful comments.
Your post rings true for me today! I started reading another post about all the ‘shoulds’ and ‘should nots’ of blogging and I deleted it because it was too much work to even read the post! Balance !!
My blogging frequency has slowed down so I’m going to commit to NaBloPoMo in November.
Also, I wouldn’t have thought a thing about your 31 days starting on the third. Months are over-rated. You could have totally taken our 31 days out of the middle as far as I’m concerned. đ
Hurray! I’m so glad you’re doing this! I did NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) in November 2014, and it totally resparked my blogging! Since then, I’ve managed three (and lately) four posts a week. Best of luck with your 31 Days of Awesome!
