A moment of self-compassion! That’s what I had this morning when I was writing my Morning Pages.
A Moment Of Self-Compassion
As I was writing, I began to think about some difficult situations that I’ve faced in the past. I was feeling guilty about my part in this, when a thought popped into my head giving me an explanation for my behaviour. For a change, I decided to explore this thought a lot more and so many other things made sense.
No, I didn’t find excuses or whitewash any of my choices. Self-compassion helped me to see why I made those choices. I was able to understand and forgive myself. In doing so, I better understood the response and role of the others in those situations. Self-compassion led to forgiveness of self and others.
Forgive me, for not sharing details of this just yet, I’m still unpacking it in my head. But all I want to reiterate is that we need to treat ourselves with compassion and understanding in order to move forward in healing and growth.
A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life.

Have you had a moment of self-compassion recently? Do you treat yourself with kindness?

Forgiving self is the first step to forgiving others, It’s a journey in compassion and love for oneself. The moment we are able to do so, life becomes that of ease and peace.
I wish you a wonderful healing journey filled with self acceptance, compassion and forgiving love.

Self compassion can be so freeing. It allows us to treat ourselves just as tenderly as we would a friend who is hurting, or experiencing consequences for a hasty choice. It seems we always talk to ourselves unkindly more often than not.
Thank you for this post.
Iam trying to practice being kind to myself. Well said. Nice quote.
Here’s hoping the conclusion to your deep thinking (and associated revelations) means you are able to carry on with any plans you have for future projects.
‘Full steam ahead’ is the way to go Corinne!
Take care

Just this morning, I was wondering how and when I will be able to let go of all the guilt I have accumulated over the years. Will people ever forgive me? Will I be able to forgive myself? I need to practice self-compassion, isn’t it? Thanks for this post, Corinne <3
Rightly said, Corinne. We need to indulge in a moment of self-compassion every day – for the mistakes in the past, present, and future. Nobody is error-free. No one is perfect. Everyone needs to practice compassion, starting with self-compassion.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m so glad you shared this post with us.
Self-compassion is an essential part of the journey towards healing ourself. I learnt it much later in life, though!
Wishing you more power in the process of finding peace and quiet within, Corinne. Hugs
