5 Things To Make Your Home Christmassy

In the last 10 Christmases we’ve been married, I’ve never attempted to decorate our home for Christmas. Some of it has to do with the fact that I didn’t grow up with this tradition. The other reason being that it doesn’t seem like a thing to do with no children around. I like instead to focus on the spirit of Christmas. Strangely, this year I feel like doing the whole decorating and gifting business, but it doesn’t seem appropriate with Mum’s passing. I’ve decided that I’ll do this from next year. Meanwhile, I’ll make sure that I get all the ideas I can. I asked Courtney Roman to share her ideas on 5 things to make your home Christmassy and she did.

5 Things To Make Your House Christmassy

The holidays are approaching us quickly. I’m not sure about all of you but I know when it comes to the holiday season I personally love to go over the top and do everything I can to make it feel like Christmas! Today I am going to be sharing with you five of my favorite things to do around the house that will help add to that special Christmas feeling for the winter season.

#1  Decor

It is fairly common for people to put up a decorative Christmas tree but if you want to really add to the Christmas feel I really recommend adding addition decor such as decorative pillows, statues, Christmas nativity scenes, etc.

#2  Scents

There is nothing quite like the scent of Christmas. A great way to get your house smelling like Christmas is to gather some of the best smelling supplies that fit the season and soak them in warm water to let that aroma spread throughout the house. I like to use cinnamon sticks, pine needles, and sometimes cranberries as well!

# 3 Spread the Christmas Love

If you are one that receives a lot of Christmas cards from friends and loved ones through the holiday season, find a great way to display them in your home to spread that Christmas love such as on your mantle, hanging from the ceiling, or maybe even a display piece.

# 4 Don’t Forget the Outdoors

I know we’ve been talking about how to get the inside of your house feeling more Christmassy, but don’t forget about the outside of your home in the mean time. Be sure to bring the outside of your home to life with some beautiful twinkling lights and maybe some lawn decorations as well.

# 5 Create Fake Snow

Snow is absolutely beautiful and a great way to have your home looking and feeling like the Christmas season is to add the effect of Snow. I personally love to get the spray cans of snow that you can find at your local store in order to add that frosted effect to your windows and this will have your home looking and feeling that warm Christmas feeling that we all love.

The Christmas season is so amazing and it is a great time to spend time with your friends, family, and loved ones. These little decor tricks are my favorite ways to get my home looking and feeling that much more like Christmas to just really add to the magic of the Season. 1. I like the scent of winter when Christmas is just around the corner. There is a different sense of excitment is dressing up and meeting gifts. Decorating greeting cards everywhere is a nice idea to celebrate this festive season.
