100 Words on Saturday Week 2
Introduced last Saturday – an invitation, a prompt, a linky. Write exactly a 100 words on the prompt and publish it on your blog – a story, a poem, a mini-essay. The linky will be open right up to next Friday, after which I will have a new prompt and a fresh linky.
This Saturday, the prompt is: BE CAREFUL
Be Careful
“Be careful of the friends you choose
You will become like them”.
“Online friends? Are you crazy?”
Voices.
Advice.
Concern.
I choose not to listen.
I choose to be me.
I choose to be friends with those who
Follow their hearts;
Pursue their passion;
And are happy to be themselves;
I keep in my circle those who
Care about others
Have concern for the world
And reach out in action.
I gather around me those who
Like a good natter;
Love to laugh;
And are eccentric in their own way.
Perhaps I am being careful about my friends after all.

Lovely Corinne!
Love the picture – so apt…:)
Yes indeed, be careful – everywhere and of everyone too. I guess one can’t say anything about how or what turns life would take, though you can be careful 🙂 Nice poem too 🙂
Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Hi Corinne,
A good prompt, here is mine:
Be Careful
” keep in my circle those who
Care about others
Have concern for the world
And reach out in action.”
🙂 That is a worthwhile circle to own.

Wow, love this Corinne ~ strictly 100 words would not be too easy for me though 😛
Hmmm… I’m careful in choosing my friends too 🙂

Love it Corinne. I agree that it is best to choose friends that we can be ourselves around and also have friends that encourage us to stretch and grow.

This is a brilliant poem! I have to hold both hands up and admit that poetry is not my strong point!

I love your poem. You are very talented. I’m not sure about the line of online friends being crazy…lol.

This is such a neat idea, and is a great prompt if you’re running short on ideas, too. I also love the picture and the quote at the bottom of the post. It made me smile.

So very true, Corinne! I was always annoyed to hear my father advice me about choosing my friends carefully, but I realize how true it is!

Loved your poem! Very apt …
Its good to be careful when we make friends.
Sometimes, when I look back, I realise that a lot of hurt/words could have been saved if I had been a bit more careful!

Inspiring poem. I have to say that I’m also careful with my friends. I realise that we become the people we hang around, so I choose not to spend my time with bitter people.

I loved working with the prompt this week! Thank you, Corrine. I didn’t get a chance to publish it on my blog yet, but I probably will later. I look forward to working with your prompts from time to time and appreciate the opportunity you’ve created for us. Wishing you well.

Love this and couldn’t agree more. I used to run with mean and angry people. Now with you as one of my friends and so many I have met on line and in my AA meetings I have to say I am now surrounded by loving and wonderful friends. I have few left from the past, I pray that they might find peace in their hearts as I have. It is all I can do.
Lovely poem Corinne 🙂
Yes we really need to be careful about the friends we have as it is said we become like them and people judge us by the company we keep.
