“Don’t buy me any clothes.” he said vehemently.
“Why ever not?” she asked.
“Well, they say when you do that, the relationship ends.” he answered.
“Nonsense,” she replied and proceeded to buy him some trendy clothes.
He seemed to love them. She noticed he wore them quite often.
A month later, she realized he had been cheating on her with several women.
She broke up with him.
“Do you have any regrets about your relationship,” her friend asked.
“Oh, yes. I do have one big regret,” she answered. “I should have bought him clothes as soon as we started dating!”
This is my tongue-in-cheek take on The Writer’s Post Thursday Prompt hosted by Debbie Doglady. Her prompt: Regrets.

LOL! That was a tongue-in-cheek response alright… In btw, cheating is a overrated concept…just as I find monogamy. Can’t we love more than one person? Why Love Capitalism?
Interesting, Bhavana. Personally, I don’t subscribe to anything other than monogamy – emotional or physical. But each to her/his own. But I’m sure you wouldn’t think it fair if one partner thinks they’re in a monogamous relationship and the other does not clarify that s/he thinks differently!

Interesting!
I kinda agree…if someone shows fondness for another person, and that individual does not…true feelings do tend to come out especially if the display of affection is happening…
